understand what a true Christian’s relationship and walk with Jesus is until he has become a Christian himself.

Do not measure your walk by someone else's. You walk alone to the door of Jesus Christ and he will say either, "Well done" or "I never knew you." Which one do you want to hear? When you give your life to the Lord you develop a process of continually trying to improve that relationship. You're not the best Christian you can be the first day after you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, but you are on your way to continual improvement. Jesus doesn't ask any more of you then that. "Thank Goodness." You may even fall at some point in your Christian walk. When you do, you will know it. At that point all you can do is ask for forgiveness and try not to do it again. Jesus said seven times 70 you should forgive and I know Jesus would forgive 700 times 700 if you ask him for it.

During all this time and thirty years into my marriage I thought I had the "good life."

I was confused though. If I had the good life, what was wrong? What was missing? I never felt fulfilled. Something was wrong, something was missing, something wasn't right. I tried in all the wrong places to find the missing link. Then my marriage failed. After several years of confusion I thought perhaps the church was where I should seek my peace, so one Wednesday night I went to church. I was scared to death to go in! I drove around the church several times. It was after the scheduled start time; I decided I couldn't go in late. The devil had one more victory! The devil didn't win in the end. The next time I went to church after more than thirty years of absence from the Word, I found that everyone welcomed me. I kept going and the more I went, the more I wanted. One night at home, I was feeling sorry for my circumstances. I had a ton of guilt from a life filled with sin and rejection of our Lord.

I stood up and cried out for the Lord to forgive me for my past mistakes, sins, and disbeliefs. I told Him that I knew He died for me so that I may have everlasting life.
